KEGG DISEASE
Pathway-linked disease catalogue
"Diseases linked to the pathways and drugs in the KEGG ecosystem."
About the resource
KEGG DISEASE is the disease-focused component of the broader KEGG (Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes) suite from Kanehisa Laboratories. It catalogues human diseases organised by cause (cancer, immune disease, metabolic disease, cardiovascular, neurodegenerative, infectious, congenital), with explicit links to KEGG pathways (the canonical metabolic and signalling maps), drug targets, genes, environmental factors and pathogens where relevant.
KEGG is academic-free and commercially licensed. Its pathway maps and structured disease–pathway relationships are heavily used in systems-biology disease analyses.
What you'd use it for
- 01Find KEGG pathways perturbed in a disease
- 02Map disease genes onto canonical signalling and metabolic maps
- 03Cross-reference disease–drug–target links in the KEGG ecosystem
- 04Run pathway-enrichment analysis with KEGG disease pathways
