DisGeNET
Gene–disease associations integrator
"Hundreds of thousands of evidence-scored gene–disease associations."
About the resource
DisGeNET integrates gene–disease and variant–disease associations from curated sources (UniProt, ClinVar, Orphanet, CTD, PsyGeNET, the GWAS Catalog and others) and adds large-scale text mining of MEDLINE abstracts, producing a unified, scored dataset of associations.
Each association carries a DisGeNET score reflecting the strength and consistency of supporting evidence across sources. The platform offers a web UI, REST API and a Cytoscape app, and is widely used as a starting point for translational target identification and disease-network analysis.
What you'd use it for
- 01Rank candidate genes for a disease by integrated evidence
- 02Build a gene–disease network for systems-biology analysis
- 03Pull text-mined associations to extend curated knowledge
- 04Anchor target-discovery pipelines to a single integrated source
