Real-time outbreak intelligence
"Real-time outbreak intelligence from news, social and official sources."
About the resource
HealthMap, based at Boston Children's Hospital, aggregates and geolocates outbreak-relevant signals from news, social media, official surveillance reports and the ProMED-mail moderated network into a real-time global outbreak map. ProMED-mail, run by the International Society for Infectious Diseases, is the longest-running moderated outbreak-alert network — its reports are written by infectious-disease physicians and are routinely earlier than formal WHO situational updates.
Together they form the most-used civilian outbreak-intelligence layer, complementing WHO DON and the CDC EOC for situational awareness on emerging infections.
