Influenza Research Database
IRD — flu sequence & immunology
"Flu-specific genomics, surveillance and host-response data."
About the resource
The Influenza Research Database (IRD), now consolidated into BV-BRC, was the NIAID-funded influenza-specific successor to BioHealthBase. It assembles influenza-virus genomes, surveillance metadata, host-response transcriptomics, immunology data (antigenic relationships, antibody-binding sites) and tools for sequence analysis, phylogenetics and reassortment detection.
Alongside GISAID it remains a primary resource for influenza-virus researchers and is integrated with WHO's Global Influenza Surveillance and Response System data flows.
What you'd use it for
- 01Pull annotated influenza sequences with reassortment history
- 02Run antigenic-cartography analyses against IRD's host-response data
- 03Cross-reference WHO GISRS surveillance with research-quality genomes
- 04Plan a flu vaccine-strain comparison analysis
