"National outcome audits behind cardiac and congenital-heart surgery."

About the resource

The UK's National Congenital Heart Disease Audit (NCHDA), part of the National Institute for Cardiovascular Outcomes Research (NICOR), captures every paediatric and adult congenital-heart-disease procedure in the UK with risk-adjusted outcomes. The U.S. Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) National Database is the analogous resource for adult cardiac surgery, general thoracic surgery and congenital-heart surgery in the U.S., with risk-adjusted mortality models that are the de facto national standards.

Analogous national registries (Germany's Adult Cardiac Surgery Database, the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery EACTS Registry, Japan's JCCVSD and others) underpin quality improvement, public reporting and outcomes research worldwide.
